As he enters his fifteenth NBA season, there are challenges that await him as he looks to reach his eighth straight NBA Finals and win his fourth overall championship, but helping him in his quest is his brand new signature shoe – the LeBron 15.The Nike LeBron 15, which features Flyknit and Max/Zoom combo Air, has been positively received thus far. We already know of the “Ashes” and “Ghost” colorway, while an off-the-court version with embroidered detailing flexes the shoe’s lifestyle capability. That’s been the identity for most of the Nike LeBron signature series as they’ve been high performers on the court and hot items off it.
During his tour in Asia, LeBron James sat down with Hypebeast to discuss basketball, music, fashion, and more. In this interview, he listed his favorite Nike LeBrons to play basketball in, and his favorite Nike shoes to wear casually. Is his list surprising?LeBron’s true first game sneaker – the pair that he laced up during his NBA debut against the Sacramento Kings – is finally getting a retro release nearly a decade and a half after his incredible career first began. The Nike Zoom Generation White Black QS will arrive at select retailers on August 26th for $175 USD featuring a near-identical look to the LeBron model that started it all. There are a few differences that are noteworthy enough though. For starters, the back heel pattern inspired by his controversial H2 Hummer that his mom bought him in High School comes in a metallic red instead of the original chrome.
The toebox also features a sturdier leather construction in white to contrast the black mesh on the side panels. We doubt that will stop any LeBron-stans from grabbing this original Zoom Generation colorway though, but expect numbers to be fairly limited. Nike Basketball meanwhile, is hard at work cooking up something special for next week. The Nike Air Zoom Generation will return in the true “First Game” colorway featuring that white leather upper, black mesh, and varsity crimson Swoosh outline that LeBron wore in his first NBA game against the Sacramento Kings back in 2003.
